We may not be traveling to meet face-to-face for now, but we are in this together.
Dear Mobility First! applicants and friends,
We hope you and your loved ones are well and healthy in these extraordinary times.
The Covid-19 situation remains uncertain and has greatly changed our lives and communities. With most of us spending more time at home, our work as mobility funders, artists and cultural professionals is also evolving. As we adjust to the new normal, the Mobility First! team would like to take this opportunity to reach out and update you on some changes that we are implementing in response to Covid-19.
Cancellation of Mobility First! Open Calls
Firstly, we regret to announce that the Mobility First! General Open Call is now cancelled for the rest of 2020.
Special open call remains open until 31 Dec 2020
Meanwhile the special open call with the support of the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been further extended until 31 December 2020.
However, we urge applicants to submit applications only when it is safe to travel again and travel restrictions are eased in both their home and destination countries as well as any layovers.
We are committed to stay connected with you.
The health and safety of our grantees, applicants and partners remain our top priority, and we are committed to supporting safe distancing measures implemented by governments in Asia & Europe in the efforts to contain Covid-19. As such, supporting travel and gathering artists face-to-face is not feasible for now. However, since it was launched in 2017, Mobility First! has always been strongly anchored on cultural exchange. While it may be some time before we can support face-to face exchange again, we hope to enable virtual exchanges by staying connected during this time.

It remains unclear when the Covid-19 pandemic will be controlled and when it will be safe to travel again. The silver lining is that this is temporary and we are in this together.
Until then, let us all stay home, stay safe and #stayconnected!
